I have been holding on to old encyclopedia's for a long time.  You can't donate them and they are just taking up space .   So today I made a decision to enjoy them.     I decided to


turn them into art journal s .

Today I decided that I really wanted the look of the ink spray's that are so popular. I always try to use what I have on hand first before spending the money on the commericial products.  I knew that I needed something with heavy pigment to achieve the deep color.  What do I have on hand???  I am a fabric dyer so I have Procion Fiber Reactive Dyes.  They are super deep color and the powder disolves well in liquid.   I mixed water, rubbing alcohol and powdered dye in a small spray bottle. Pros:  Deep color, mixes well with alcohol and water (I did about half and half), reacts well with other products and mediums. Cons:  Permanent color.  where it lands it stays - on hands, clothing and suroundiing surfaces.
